Former coach of Bulgaria triumphs with Turkish Cup

Former head coach of the Bulgarian national team Giovanni Guidetti led VakifBank to the Turkish Cup trophy after his team defeated Eczacıbaşı Dynavit 3:1 (25:19, 21:25, 25:20, 25:19).
The 'Yellow-Blacks' demonstrated class in the final and fully deserved the title, which is the club's 10th in this competition.
The success also has a strong Bulgarian connection, as Giovanni Guidetti was the head coach of the Bulgarian national team between 2003 and 2004 – a significant stage in his development as a coach on the international scene.
Today, the Italian specialist is among the most established names in world women's volleyball, and besides being the head coach of VakifBank, he currently also coaches the Canadian national team.
It is against this team that Bulgaria will compete in the Volleyball Nations League, which adds extra interest to Guidetti's figure and his development over the years.
In the final itself, VakifBank imposed control over the match, managing to neutralize the opponent's main weapons and dictate the pace in crucial moments.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the final was Marina Markova, who finished with 24 points, including 1 ace and three blocks, playing a key role in her team's success and being a leader offensively.
