Radoslav Arsov's daughter goes to American college championship
The daughter of Levski Sofia head coach Radoslav Arsov, Elina, will play in the American collegiate championship in the 2024/25 season. The outside hitter, born in 2006, played for the team last season atVandœuvre Nancy Volley-Ball CFCin France. There she studied at Lycee International Jeanne D'Arc. Bulgaria with an express victory at the Balkan Championship in Vladislav Nikolov's debut as assistant coach
Bulgaria started strong at the U20 Men's Balkan Championship in Serbia. Miroslav Zhivkov's boys defeated Moldova 3:0 (25:10, 25:14, 25:15) in less than an hour. This was also Vladimir Nikolov's debut as an assistant coach for this team. Bulgaria lost its last European match
Bulgaria concluded its participation in the European Women's Under-20 Championship, which our country co-hosts, with a loss. Volleyball "Zenit", where Vladimir Alekno is from this season, changed its logo
Volleyball club Zenit changed its logo – it will now be like those of the football and basketball clubs, Russian media report. "Many of you have already noticed changes in our logo. So, from this day forward, we have become a full member of the Zenit family. Now our uniform will feature an arrow that you will never confuse with anything or anyone!" – the club said in a statement. Football club Zenit is a 10-time Russian champion (2007, 2010, 2012, 2015, 2019–2024), so the team's logo is also adorned with two stars.
Kaya Nikolova officially presented in Maritsa
As early as August 8, volleyweek.bg first reported that Maritsa (Plovdiv) attracted a third new addition for the 2024-2025 season in the person of U20 national team player Kaya Nikolova.Kaya is the third new volleyball player in the team after German national player Vanessa Agbortabi and Ralina Doshkova.Kaya Nikolova plays as a middle blocker and for the last two seasons was part of the CSKA (Sofia) women's team. She has been part of national teams in various age groups. In 2021, she won a bronze medal with the U16 national team at the European Championship. A year later, she won silver at the Balkan Championship with the U17 national team. The volleyball player is currently participating in the U20 European Championship in Sofia and will join her new team after its conclusion.

Products of the "Cherno More" academy will be the club's setters for the new season in Efbet Super Volley. After 2 years with "Dunav", Yoan Kairakov returns to his home club. He was instrumental in the Ruse team, which won promotion to our elite group this season, and also became holders of the Higher League Cup. The 24-year-old Kairakov has already played in Bulgaria's elite with his home club. Another of our talents - Daniel Valev, is the other player relied upon to be the conductor this season.
Fifteen are training for the Men's U17 World Championship, Teodor Bogdanov is the coach
Former national team player and head coach of VC Lyulin's youth teams, Teodor Bogdanov, will lead Bulgaria at the U17 Men's World Championship, which our country is hosting (August 24-31). As we announced earlier,the championship will be held in the capital's "Levski Sofia" and "Hristo Botev" halls. Bogdanov was one of the coaches honored by the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation last year for his contribution to the success of the Bulgarian U17 men's national team and winning silver medals at the 2023 European Championship in Podgorica (Montenegro). Together with his staff, he is already leading intensive training with the team in our capital.
Bulgaria qualified for the World Cup, will finish third in the group
The Bulgarian women's national team U20 remained without a medal at the European Championship. The consolation is that we will definitely qualify for next year's World Championship, our volleyball headquarters boasted.The Bulgarians remained in third place in Group A of the tournament in Sofia. For a place in the final four, Croatia had to beat Belgium, but the opposite happened - 3:1 for the "Red Devils". Thus, the last match of the group, Bulgaria - Turkey, is irrelevant for the final standings. The Turkish team is the leader, and ours cannot be displaced from the third position.
Vladimir Nikolov with a debut as assistant coach in the men's national team under 20 years old
Tonight, Vladimir Nikolov will debut as an assistant coach for the men's national U20 team. The legend joined the staff of head coach Miroslav Zhivkov for theBalkan Championshipin Serbia (August 13-17) and the upcomingEuropean Championshipin Serbia and Greece (August 26 - September 7). After ending his competitive career, Nikolov was already a coach for a youth national team, as well as for VC Levski, where he is now co-president of the club. The Balkan Games begin today in the Serbian resort town of Vrnjačka Banja. The hall is named after basketball legend Vlade Divac.
